My Story

dr jen.jpg
As a co-owner of Brix Wellness Group, I am dedicated to patient care, offering an interdisciplinary experience in the Okanagan and on Vancouver Island. For the past 14 years, I have absolutely loved being in the clinic setting, and after my family expanded in 2021, I began a Telemedicine practice to allow me to see patients across British Columbia, but also spend more time with my young family.

In addition to my in-person and virtual family practices, I am an educational specialist for Factors Group of Nutritional Supplements, Inc., training health industry retailers and educating the public on many areas of health. I love to share knowledge, and regularly appear as a guest on radio and television shows, host webinars, and provide health articles for various publications. My passion for learning and research has led me to become a three-times academically published writer, with more on the way!

Following my love for delicious, healthy, real food, I am also a Nutrition and Medical Consultant for a health conscious and sustainability driven company, providing nutritionally-dense, environmentally-responsible, food & drink options. And with my growing family, I have become involved in early childhood care and am a founding partner of a childcare academy and co-working facility to help working parents eliminate the barriers to a successful career while raising a family.

In my spare time, I combine my passion for education with a commitment to educating on matters close to my heart. I am actively involved in conservation and sustainability initiatives, promoting awareness of the delicate relationship between wild elephants and the Samburu people of Eastern Africa and the trafficking of animals in Ecuador. I have also volunteered in home building and medical care projects in Mexico and Nicaragua and hope to instil these values in my children.

When not seeing patients or travelling, I enjoy exploring our beautiful backyard, whether it be hiking the forests or surfing the waves, with my husband chiropractor Christian Brix, daughter Pippa, and English cocker spaniel, Matty.

Naturopathic Doctors are Primary Health Care Providers

As licensed primary health care providers in BC, NDs have diagnostic, laboratory, and pharmaceutical prescribing rights.

The 6 Naturopathic Principles

First do no harm

Providing effective health care using techniques and methods that minimize harmful effects.

The healing power of nature

Promoting self-healing power in each unique person by supporting the body's innate ability to heal and restore balance.

Identify and remove the cause

Rather than eliminating or suppressing symptoms, finding and removing the cause of disease or imbalance will have fewer harmful effects and prevent further complications.

Doctor as teacher

Naturopathic physicians work with and educate their patients inspiring rational hope and encourage self-responsibility for health.

Treat the whole person

All individual health factors including physical, biochemical, mental, emotional, and environmental influences are considered when treating each person.

Prevention

Emphasizing the condition of health to promote well-being and prevent disease in the individual.
